Northampton Lions Football Club can announce the start of open trials, as UEFA A Licence head coach Howard Willmott continues his search for excellence.

Through outstanding futsal and football pathways, which include international opportunities, the club provides a unique framework to support player development.

Northampton Lions are looking for driven and dedicated players to join the club’s ambitious group across the National Fustal League and Midland Junior Premier League squads. If you are a grassroots player looking to progress in the game, or a player released from a professional academy looking for a way to stay in a challenging environment and reach potential, we’d love to hear from you.

“The players that have the right attitude and a positive mindset fit well into our elite culture,” explained Willmott. “As a club, we value each session and match as an event to improve performance, and the players we are looking for must match up to these standards.

“We’re offering the opportunity to attend our training sessions and get a feel that way, rather than an open trial, so the players will find themselves more involved and get a real appreciation of the standard and approach of the group.”

We are constantly monitoring updates relating to COVID-19 and ensure sessions strictly follow the current UK government and public health guidelines. At this stage, it is intended the trials will take the form of an invitation to a training session(s), so places are limited at each session, providing more chance to have an impact.
