Northampton Lions has been accredited by The Football Association as a Charter Standard club.

The FA’s Charter Standard Programme began in 2001 and aims to improve the standard of clubs at grassroots level by offering certification to those that can demonstrate a high level of management, sustainability, coaching, and safeguarding.

Accredited clubs are required to not only maintain these high standards, but thrive to improve them where possible.

Howard Willmott, Northampton Lions head coach, said: “Becoming Charter Standard is something that everyone involved with Northampton Lions can take great pride in.

“Since we formed as a futsal club six years ago we have always aimed to do things at the highest possible standard, so this is testament to the hard work that has been put into the club and delivering on our vision.

“We are looking forward to using the Charter Standard accreditation to help push the boundaries of what we can achieve.”
